The fact that the hotel had a heated pool and a sauna was the primary reason we chose this hotel. We were extremely happy with the choice, we could even park the 3 motorbikes in the private area and head out for drinks in the evening.

Coming from South East England, Växjö seemed, very, very, very quiet. Quieter than a Sunday during the first lockdown in England. It was not unusual to see no cars on a main road. Växjö and Sweden as a whole is very well organised. Hardly any litter, no graffiti, everyone very polite. Most people spoke English and were eager to help if we needed help. The bus service is excellent, the timetables are accurate to the minute. If you like peace and quiet it's a good place to go. If you're looking for clubs and nightlife, Sweden is the wrong country for you.

The cathedral (domkyrkan) is outstanding, with magnificent etched glass, coloured glass, glass accents, befitting this little city in Sweden’s famous glass blowing district. The Småland Museum is also very good, with an excellent depiction of the history of glass blowing in Sweden. Its exhibition about wood is exceptional, too. Växjö itself, at least in the centre, is pretty and architecturally interesting.Shelagh JaneCanada

The breakfast was excellent and the evening meals were adequate and enjoyable. The afternoon free fika was a bonus; the free coffee and tea at reception 24/7 was a nice touch. Their sauna was under renovation and they kindly arranged the use of a nearby gym sauna. Sadly, we are travelling through Sweden and unlikely we will return to Vaxjo but if we did we would not hesitate to stay there.
