modern, sleek, clean, convenient location, friendly staff. The Only hotel of the 17 hotels stayed this trip in Italy that has air conditioning /cool air working upon checkin, without asking. 1st floor has a small cafe area, with microwave, disposible silverware, etc, where guest can use it to take a break and even eat there. downstairs with the breakfast room in the same level, there are lockers to stow bags after check out. A good distance to train station, takes some walk, but not too far, and sidewalk is not a problem.

FAQs about hotels in Brescia

Lombardy’s Best Kept Secret

Affluent Brescia is an industrial hub whose Roman and medieval monuments are relatively undiscovered. Its strategic location in the foothills of the Alps and midway between Lake Garda and Lake Iseo was coveted by invaders, and during efforts to ward off the Austrians it earned the nickname of the Lioness of Italy.

Brescia’s oldest landmarks are the Capitolium, overlooking the former Forum, and the Roman theatre remains. Artefacts found on both sites are displayed in the city museum in St Julia’s Monastery alongside remains of 2 Roman houses with their original mosaics, murals and underfloor heating.

The Broletto was the medieval town hall and it shares a large, cobbled square with the round Old Cathedral (or Rotonda) which is partly below current street level. Between them is the New Cathedral, begun in the 17th century. Piazza della Loggia is dominated by the Loggia itself and at the opposite end is a porticoed walkway housing shops and cafes.

Overlooking this from a hill is Brescia Castle whose ramparts offer views towards the lush Franciacorta wine-growing region. To the east is Sant'Eufemia della Fonte Monastery, home of the Mille Miglia Museum commemorating the iconic motorsport race which started here.

Booking.com’s accommodation options include luxury hotels, cheap apartments by the train station and B&Bs near Brescia Airport.

Brescia has plenty of places to hang out.

Brescia has plenty of places to hang out. It has so many beautiful churches and ancient Roman antiques to see. Recommend to first get a Milan Card, which is 60 euros approximately, covers more than 200 museums, palazzos, etc, in the Lombardy region, including Brescia, so one can visit most of the places free of charge. Visit the Old Cathedral when it is sunny in the morning, so you can see the light goes through one of the windows and light up one of the crosses in the hall, it's amazing. The Santo Cristo monastery is also another must see, which is called Sistine of Brescia, with beautiful fresco paintings all over the inner wall of the church. brescia castle is a place to relax and take a overview of the city. Plenty of bars and restaurants around town. Don't forget the Pinacoteca, which hosts Raphael's painting there, a must see

Brescia has a large old town and plentiful green spaces.

Brescia has a large old town and plentiful green spaces. It has a huge selection of good restaurants with modest prices and extensive menus. The locals are also kind and hospitable. The Brixia Roman archaeological area is second only to sites in Rome and is visited by tourists from all over Europe, including local school classes and also children from far away. It is well conserved and provides plentiful information. It may be necessary to reserve visits of some parts for conservation reasons. The cafe in the Teatro Grande is also worth visiting at weekends. To avoid queues it's best to visit while others are still at lunch or to reserve a table. It also organises events with music and dinners. The Locanda dei Guasconi is a beautiful historical restaurant with an original menu and good food. Brescia has a well developed public system and is also an ideal base for visiting Lakes Garda and Iseo, or other historic towns such as Cremona, Crema and Verona. The Basilica and Sanctuary of Maria Delle Grazie is an unusual and ornate religious site - open only in the afternoon when we were visiting.

Brescia is a middle sized city in Lombardy region, it is quite underrated. It is beautiful, manageable for short visits, but with enough activities if you wanna stay longer, with hiking trails, cultural activities. There is a metro line (unexpected) which works quite well until around midnight, also there is a bicycle lending system which could facilitate even a single day visit.

We visited Brescia for the first time right after the COVID pandemic, and since then, we've experienced the city's blossoming back to its beautiful, lively, and vibrant character. The historic centre is a must-see, the restaurants and cafes are worth visiting, and the guests can enjoy some extras like a world-class performance at Teatro Grande or shopping in the numerous stores or at the farmer's market on Saturday. And at the end one always feels like returning home.

I come to Brescia when I visit family, this was my second stay in this hotel for the convenience of being in front of the station making it ideal for catching an early train. I asked for a quiet room and an extra blanket and both requests were met on arrival. The extra blanket was just a precaution but I didn’t need to use it as the room was warm enough. The evening receptionist was helpful and courteous. I really appreciated the water kettle in the room and especially the camomile for a night cup.

Davide left an assortment of teas, coffee pods, jams , yogurt, milk, water, chocolates and everyday condiments; most unexpected for apartments we have stayed in our numerous visits to Italy. It also had a very well equipped kitchen. An allround comfortable apartment. Brescia itself is well worth a visit and has plenty to offer.
